Topsham Bowling Club

Who Are We?

Topsham is a friendly and social bowling club with a full-size, high-quality green that’s great for players of all levels. We take part in a mix of competitive and fun leagues, competitions, and special events throughout the year, so there’s always something exciting going on at the club.

Our roomy clubhouse, updated in 2026, offers a cozy spot where members and visitors can relax and chat. You’ll find free Wi-Fi, a fully licensed bar, plus fun activities like our skittles league and regular quiz nights that members really enjoy.

Where Are We?

The club is situated in the middle of Topsham, adjacent to Matthews Hall and the Old Firestation pub.

How Can I Get There?

You can drive here, but parking nearby can be a little tricky. Luckily, Topsham has a regular train service on the Exeter St Davids to Exmouth line, with trains running every 30 to 40 minutes throughout the day. Plus, Topsham Station is only a short 5-minute walk away.

Where Can I Park?

There are plenty of car parks around, plus some on-street parking options. Here’s how long it takes to walk from each spot:

Matthews Hall EX3 0HF, right next to the Club

Tappers Close EX3 0DG - about 5 minutes

Holman Way EX3 0EN - around 6 minutes

The Quay EX3 0JB - roughly 8 minutes

Topsham Rugby Club EX3 0LY - about 9 minutes

If you’re coming by minibus or coach, the best drop-off point is the bus stop opposite the Lord Nelson pub on High Street EX3 0DU. Our club is just a quick 3-minute walk from there.

Coach parking might be available at the M5 J30 motorway services or at the Exmouth lorry and coach park EX8 1DB.

Visitors & Tourers

We’re situated in a lovely part of the country, perfect for visitors who love playing bowls. If you’re on holiday and want to bring your bowls along for a relaxed game, Contact Us to see if the rinks are available.

Membership

Full Members, also known as Bowling or Playing Members, get full access to both the green and the clubhouse. They’re invited to join all the club’s social events, which is a fantastic way to meet other members and enjoy some great games. Plus, Full Members have the right to vote at the AGM and can even stand for positions as Committee Members or Officers of the club.

Social Members can use the clubhouse and take part in a range of social events. They’re also welcome to use the green, though there’s a small extra charge each time. The one exception is our popular Friday Club Nights, where Social Members can bowl for free and enjoy a laid-back, friendly atmosphere to play and hang out.

Joining us is really easy—just fill out the form below to get started. Since we’re run by volunteers, it might take a little while to get back to you, but don’t worry, we’ll review and process your application as quickly as we can.

Once your application is approved, the Membership Secretary will reach out with payment options. You can pay by bank transfer, cheque, or even with cash, credit, or debit card right here at the clubhouse.
